A record year: Chisinau Airport increases passenger traffic by 46% in 2024

Chisinau Airport, Photo: Hamal.mdChisinau Airport has set a record — in 2024, it handled 4.1 million passengers, which is 46% more than last year.
According to DW, thanks to this growth, it entered the top of the most successful airports in Europe in the medium-sized category (from 1 to 10 million passengers per year).
It is noted that Chisinau Airport was ranked second in terms of efficiency in the ACI Europe rating, making a profit of 17.7 million euros.
«About a third of passengers are citizens of Ukraine, which indicates the impact of the war on air traffic in the region. The growth in the number of Ukrainian travellers has been recorded for the second year in a row», reports DW.
