Five more Ukrainian children who were illegally detained in the temporarily occupied territories and Russia have returned home.

This was announced by the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak.

«Among the rescued children is a 10-year-old boy who had been in occupation for a long time with his sick grandmother. When the war broke out, his mother was in another city. She tried several times, risking everything, to take her son away on her own, but to no avail. Now the family is together again and safe on the territory of Ukraine», he wrote.

Andriy Yermak added that the return was made possible thanks to the efforts of the President of Ukraine's Bring Kids Back UA initiative, in particular the Ombudsman's Office.

As a reminder, three more children — a boy and two girls aged 3 and 13 — have recently been returned from the temporarily occupied Kherson region. According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, the boy stopped talking because the Russians were constantly searching his home and threatening him with weapons.
