30 people suspected of involvement in creation of torture chambers in Kherson region

Law enforcement officers in Kherson region have confirmed the presence of 13 torture chambers set up by the occupation forces in the region. 11 of them were located in the de-occupied territories, and two more in the temporarily occupied part of the region.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, 30 people are suspected of creating torture chambers in 15 criminal proceedings. In addition, 12 indictments against 21 suspects were sent to court.
In particular, on 24 December 2024, citizens of Ukraine who voluntarily joined the ranks of an illegal armed group were served with a notice of suspicion «State Security Service of Kherson Region».
«In the basement of the seized building at 15 P. Orlyk Street, Kherson, a civilian was ill-treated, which was expressed in cruel treatment, namely the infliction of severe physical suffering (bodily harm, including the commission of a sexual act that belongs to other types of sexual violence)», the statement said.
Earlier, it was reported that the Russian soldier would be tried for imprisonment, beating, threatening to rape and humiliating local residents of the former temporarily occupied Snihurivka, Mykolaiv region.
As of January 2024, 12 cases of torture of civilians by the occupiers in the Mykolaiv region were recorded.
