Ukraine completes creation of base for training mine-sniffing dogs

Ukraine is completing the creation of an interagency base to train dog handlers and mine-sniffing dogs.
This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
«Training base for dog handlers. The creation of an interagency base for training mine-sniffing dogs is nearing completion», the statement said.
Who will demine Mykolaiv region and when?
For more than two years now, demining of Mykolaiv region, one of the most heavily mined regions in Ukraine, has been underway. Since then, more than 20,000 hectares of potentially mined areas in the region have been cleared, but not all areas have been surveyed yet.
Today, professional deminers continue to work in Mykolaiv region: government units, Ukrainian and foreign companies. While in 2023 the pace of demining in the region was quite fast, in early 2024 it slowed down somewhat.
