Mykolaiv hands over more than 2000 drones to defenders in Kherson region

Mykolaiv has handed over 2,200 drones to the defenders in Kherson region.

This was announced by Ivan Smyrenskyi, advisor to the mayor of Mykolaiv.

«Today we visited the Kherson sector once again and delivered another batch of aid to the Defence Forces. Endless words of gratitude to the guys and girls who protect us. May they all be protected by the guardian angel», said Ivan Smyrenskyi.

He also thanked the people of Mykolaiv for their contribution to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

«I would like to thank taxpayers from Mykolaiv who make it possible to support the soldiers even when the community is deprived of military personal income tax», added Ivan Smyrenskyi.

Earlier, Mykolaiv handed over drones and heat guns to the 126th Territorial Defence Brigade.

We would like to add that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, according to the data of 2023, Mykolaiv budget has allocated 597 million hryvnias for the needs of the Armed Forces and transferred equipment worth another 80 million hryvnias.

In addition, in 2023, the budget of Mykolaiv allocated 400 million hryvnias for the military, of which 200 million hryvnias was spent on housing for military personnel serving in the Mykolaiv garrison.

In March, 57.6 million hryvnias was allocated from the free balance of the city budget to support the Territorial Defense brigade and the Security and Defence Forces. And in April 2024, the city council members made changes to the city budget for 2024: about 107 million hryvnias was allocated for defence.

In September 2024, the Mykolaiv City Council donated material assistance worth more than 7 million hryvnias to the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
