An X-ray machine for the non-operative treatment of tumors was handed over to the Mykolaiv Regional Oncology Center

The Mykolaiv Regional Oncology Center received a close-focus X-ray machine that can remove benign and malignant tumors without surgical intervention.

«NikVesti» writes about it.

According to the head doctor of the regional oncology center, Dmytro Lahochev, the need for a close-focus X-ray machine arose as early as 2021, because the medical facility had an outdated and inefficient machine.

The new X-ray machine was purchased in 2022 with the funds of a state subsidy with the assistance of People's Deputy Oleksandr Haidu. However, due to the difficult circumstances associated with the war, it could not be established earlier. Doctors also had to be trained to work with this equipment.

— The chief doctor of the oncology center, Dmytro Lahochev, said back in 2021 that he needed a close-focus X-ray machine. We purchased it back in 2022, but during the war it could not be installed. It was necessary to repair the premises, as well as train doctors to work with this device. This is a unique device that can treat both malignant and benign tumors. Many patients were waiting for this device in order to treat their diseases without surgical intervention. During the coronavirus and the war, people did not stop getting sick with this terrible disease and, in principle, the number of people is only increasing, because immigrants who are also being treated at the Mykolaiv cancer center have moved from other areas, — commented People's Deputy Oleksandr Haidu.

Patients who have malignant neoplasms will be given free therapy, while the treatment of other diseases will be charged.

It is noted that the X-ray machine is currently working in test mode, but in two weeks it should work at full capacity.

We remind that in Mykolaiv they plan to overhaul the premises of the regional oncology center for 9 million hryvnias. These are the premises of the facility where patients will undergo chemotherapy and where modern equipment will be installed for this purpose.

On September 18, the Department of Capital Construction of Mykolayiv Oblast announced the relevant tenders. The contractor will have to carry out a major renovation of the premises by February 29, 2024, including installing modern lighting, ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems.
