Two more murals are planned for the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv and on Soborna Street.

This was announced during a live broadcast by the city’s chief architect, Yevhen Poliakov, according to NikVesti.

He noted that the city is working on various initiatives related to urban space, whilst no budget funds are being spent on creating murals — the projects are being implemented using money from patrons and socially responsible businesses.

«This applies not only to monuments, but also to street signs on Google Maps, as well as artistic expressions in the form of murals. We do not use budget funds for this. We have residents, businesspeople and patrons who care about their city, whom they love, and who want to make it better,» says Yevhen Poliakov.

He added that the recent mural featuring sunflowers on one of the restored buildings near Manhanarivskyi Square («Heart of the City») received positive feedback from Mykolaiv residents, which served as an incentive for new projects. The next murals are planned to be realised in the near future.

«We’re doing the next mural in the Korabelnyi district, and then on Soborna Street. I think everyone will like it too. It’s nice that this helps you keep going and that you like it. That’s why we did it — for inspiration,» added the architect.

According to Korabelov.info, work on a mural on the wall of Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 40 in the Korabelnyi district is already nearing completion. The mural is dedicated to the memory of the renowned landscaper Vadym Serdtsev, who planted over 20,000 trees and shrubs in the city over a period of 20 years. The sketch was created by artist Valeriia Kucher, and funding was provided by a Mykolaiv entrepreneur, whose name has not yet been disclosed.

According to the artist, the idea for the mural was chosen via a Facebook vote at the end of 2025. Work on the mural is scheduled to be completed this week.

It is worth noting that two vibrant murals by French artists JoFo and Charles have appeared in Mykolaiv near the purified water distribution point on the premises of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivelektrotrans».

In 2024, a mural was officially unveiled in the centre of Mykolaiv opposite the Danish Embassy in honour of friendship and cooperation with the Kingdom. In the painting, the artists depicted notable Danish landmarks, such as the Copenhagen Zoo, which is one of the oldest in Europe, and the famous Tivoli Gardens amusement park with its historic rollercoasters.
