«We have renewed the program for providing joints. This year, 92 hip and knee joints were purchased. To date, 54 joints have been installed. 44 of them hip and 10 knee,» said Iryna Shamrai.

According to her, the joint endoprosthesis program is in demand among Mykolaiv residents. Today, more than 300 citizens are waiting in line for free prostheses.

The program is also going to be extended for the next year 2024. For this purpose, 6 million hryvnias were set aside in the city budget.

«In the budget, we have planned 6 million hryvnias for endoprosthetics, just like this year. We have three institutions that deal with this, they are the city hospital 3, 5 and the emergency medical care hospital,» said the head of the department.

She also emphasized that, despite the queue, the program provides extra-ordinary prosthetics for military personnel.

«As for the military and injuries, we always have a supply of joints for such cases,» Iryna Shamrai emphasized.
