«We are planning to move in a different direction,» the DHCS said whether they will restore the house destroyed by shelling in Aliaudy

The Department of Housing and Communal Services is awaiting the results of a technical report to decide the economic feasibility of restoring the building at 2 Aliudy Street in Mykolaiv.

Artem Sapozhnyk, deputy director of the department, said this in a comment to NikVesti.

Previously, NikVesti wrote that in August 2022, three Russian missiles hit this building. Since that moment, people have been living in a house without a full-fledged roof — in its place is a tarpaulin and film, which no longer even protect against precipitation.

Now the DHCS is solving the question of the economic feasibility of restoring this building.

«We plan to move in a different direction, because this building was built before the revolution. It is built from materials that are no longer used. And even if we invest budget money for its restoration, as a result we will get a house that will require significant budget funds for repairs in the future. Restoring the building to the state it was in still does not remove the question of its emergency: the walls, ceiling and other structural elements needed repair even without an arrival,» said Artem Sapozhnyk.

In order to decide whether it makes sense to restore the house, the department ordered the development of a technical report. If, according to the results of the report, it turns out that the restoration of the destroyed house is impractical, its residents will be able to receive housing certificates as part of the «eVidnovlennia» program. If the repair of the house is justified, it will be carried out. According to preliminary calculations of the department, 5-6 million hryvnias will be needed for this.

«We should receive this report by July 1, this issue is not long-term. It's not that we don't want to spend budget funds, we just understand that it won't help to achieve the desired result. Maybe it will be even better for the people who live there. When we talked with local residents, they understood that this was one of the options,» added Artem Sapozhnyk.

Until the issue of restoring the house is resolved, locals can contact the department to replace the film and tarpaulin on the roof.

«This can be solved. They can apply, we will leave and see what the situation is there,» he assured.

We will remind you how in January, the first resident of Mykolaiv purchased an apartment under the «eVidnovnelnnia» housing certificate.
