More than 29.4 billion hryvnias is needed to repair roads in Mykolaiv region.

This is stated in the programme of economic and social development of the region for 2026, according to NikVesti.

Due to active hostilities, 1,117.6 kilometres of public roads of local importance, which is 33.7% of the entire network, have been damaged. Of these, 508.7 kilometres have been under occupation for some time, and according to preliminary data, almost 289 kilometres of roads have been damaged or destroyed.

The communities of Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts felt the consequences of this destruction: road traffic has deteriorated, and the time for evacuating the population and delivering humanitarian supplies, as well as agricultural and other products, including military ones, has increased.

In particular, about 9.57 billion hryvnias is needed to repair local public roads. Of this amount, approximately 3.03 billion hryvnias is needed to bring the main school bus routes into good condition.

Another 19.89 billion hryvnias is needed to restore national roads.

Thus, the total amount for the repair and maintenance of the region's roads exceeds 29 billion hryvnias.

Earlier, Vitalii Kim, head of the Regional State Administration, said that due to poor roads, children in many communities spend more than an hour on the way to school and therefore cannot physically withstand such trips.
