Residents of Zavodskyi district of Mykolaiv received over ₴180 million in compensation for destroyed and damaged housing

In the Zavodskyi district of Mykolaiv, residents have been paid more than 180 million hryvnias in compensation for housing destroyed or damaged as a result of Russian aggression.

This was announced by Viktor Dmytruk, head of the Zavodskyi district administration, in a commentary to NikVesti.

According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, residents have submitted 1,146 applications for compensation for damaged housing and 216 applications for destroyed housing.

«As of today, 620 applicants with damaged property have already received compensation in the total amount of 33 million 636 thousand hryvnias, and 158 applicants with destroyed housing have received compensation in the amount of 149 million 120 thousand hryvnias. These are the funds that have already been paid to people,» said Viktor Dmytruk.

13 high-rise buildings to be restored in Zavodskyi district: what is known

As a reminder, 54 apartment buildings damaged by Russian shelling will be restored in Mykolaiv as part of the grant project «HOPE». By the end of 2025, it is planned to develop projects to rebuild these buildings.

This number of apartment buildings was distributed by city district as follows:

  • Tsentralnyi district — 22 apartment buildings;
  • Zavodskyi district — 13 apartment buildings;
  • Inhulskyi district — 12 apartment buildings;
  • Korabelnyi district — 7 apartment buildings.

What is the status of the reconstruction of buildings in Mykolaiv?

In 2024, 45 million hryvnias is planned to be spent from the Mykolaiv budget to restore damaged or destroyed apartment buildings, while in 2023, 40 million hryvnias was allocated for this purpose.

The first multi-storey building in Mykolaiv damaged by shelling was repaired at the expense of the city budget in July 2023. It was a building on Krylova Street that was hit by a Russian missile in the summer of 2022.

At the end of the year, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council reported that in 2023, four residential apartment buildings that had been damaged by shelling by Russian troops had been overhauled.

After that, the Department of Housing and Communal Services announced a tender for the restoration of a five-storey building in the centre of Mykolaiv, which was destroyed by a Russian missile in autumn 2022. Subsequently, NikVesti showed how the process of its restoration is going.

And in April 2024, the Department of Housing and Communal Services announced another tender for the overhaul of a high-rise building at 132 Kosmonavtiv Street in Mykolaiv. Three other buildings awaiting reconstruction are those at 2 Aliaudu, 61 Raiduzhna and 142 B Kosmonavtiv Streets.

At the same time, the city council supported the allocation of funds from the Mykolaiv budget for technical inspections of private houses affected by the war.
