«Mykolaiv parks» to buy exercise equipment for almost a million for a new sports ground in Inhulskyi district

Mykolaiv is looking to purchase equipment for the improvement of a sports ground in the Ingul district.

The relevant tender is posted on the Prozorro portal, according to «NikVesti».

The customer of the tender is the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks». Fitness equipment worth UAH 995,000 is to be installed at a sports ground in Inhulskyi district.

The equipment is to be delivered by 30 November 2025. The tender conditions provide for open bidding without dividing into lots. The deadline for submitting applications is 13 October 2025.

In a comment to NikVesti, the head of the utility company, Dmytro Chuchmai, noted that the project will be similar to the playground on Naberezhna, but more inclusive equipment will be installed in the Inhulskyi district.

«These are simulators. But they will be more inclusive for people with disabilities. Work is currently underway there. We are building a playground like the one on Fleet Boulevard. We want to have such playgrounds in every district of the city. Next year, perhaps, we will do it in Zavodskyi or Korabelnyi districts,» said Dmytro Chuchmai.

Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych also spoke about the creation of this playground during his report in July 2025. At that time, several options were considered, but he did not name the exact location.

«The sites are not cheap. Even though we didn't use contractors, we did some of the work on our own, and bought the equipment ourselves. Young people who don't have the money can't go to the gym to lift weights because the cost is not cheap, and not everyone has the money. Such platforms give everyone the opportunity to work out: both young and old. It is better for them to be on these grounds than smoking cigarettes in the basement,» the mayor said during the briefing.

It should be noted that the new sports ground in the park on Fleet Boulevard near the Chess Club in Mykolaiv was opened almost a year ago.

The project was implemented by the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks», and, according to the estimate, it was to cost the city budget 6.8 million hryvnias. According to Dmytro Chuchmai, director of the utility, the use of the company's own resources saved 2.3 million hryvnias. The municipal utility reported that the total amount spent on the sports ground was 4 million 620 thousand 720.2 hryvnias. The remaining funds, namely 2 million 208 thousand 916.8, will not be spent.

In 2023, two trees were demolished on Fleet Boulevard. At the same time, the environmental inspection reported a violation. Later, the police opened criminal proceedings against the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» for unauthorised construction on Fleet Boulevard. All equipment was seized and evacuated to the impound lot.

Subsequently, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the South-Western Region reported that the amount of environmental damage caused by the construction work on Fleet Boulevard was over 2 million hryvnias. Inna Kryvko, head of the State Environmental Supervision Department of the Nature Reserve Fund, said that the case has not yet been closed, and that a pre-trial investigation into the damage caused by the work is currently underway.

In turn, the head of the municipal utility, Dmytro Chuchmai, said that construction work on Fleet Boulevard did not require a project. He also explained that they were started «so that our soldiers could undergo free rehabilitation there».
