The roof of gymnasium №10 in Mykolaiv will be repaired for over 9 million hryvnias. Photo: Iryna PastukhThe Capital Construction Department has announced a tender for the overhaul of the roof of Mykolaiv's Gymnasium №10. The cost of the work is 9.2 million hryvnias.
The relevant tender is posted on the Prozorro portal, according to NikVesti.
According to the terms of reference in the tender documents, the work covers the full cycle of roof renovation — from dismantling old structures to installing a lightning protection system.
This includes the dismantling of the old asbestos-cement sheeting, lathing, dormers, gutters and metal roof elements. Garbage and scrap metal will also be removed from the site.
The contractor will then proceed with the installation of a new roof, and after that, install windows and ventilation units with metal-plastic frames. He will also arrange parapets, etc. He will also install lightning protection with grounding.
It should be noted that this educational institution was damaged as a result of a direct hit on the territory of the gymnasium. The roof was damaged by the blast wave, the head of the department, Oleksii Savchuk, told NikVesti.
«There was an old roof, and the roof was already in need of repair. In addition, the interior was repaired with donor funds. In order to preserve what we have done, we need to make this roof. The first thing is to preserve what we have. We have a project to build a shelter,» said Oleksii Savchuk.
The contractor has until 30 August 2026 to complete the work at the school, as specified in the tender. However, Oleksii Savchuk suggests that the repairs will be completed faster.
«This is a 100% transitional project. We will not have time to complete it completely this year, given the weather conditions. Of course, everything will not be disclosed, it will be done one by one. We said that everything should be completed by the beginning of the school year, but I think it will be earlier,» he added.
As a reminder, Mykolaiv will purchase modern interactive panels for almost 40 schools for 4.6 million hryvnias.
