Mykolaiv budget lacks money — Lukov on repairing the roof of the lyceum in Varvarivka, where the state has put reconstruction on hold

As of the end of the year, Mykolaiv's budget does not have enough money to roof the unfinished building of Lyceum №60 in Varvarivka before the beginning of winter.

This was reported by First Deputy Mayor Vitalii Lukov in a commentary to NikVesti.

Currently, Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych has sent a letter to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine to allocate additional funds for the repair of the lyceum's roof, the first deputy mayor said.

«Because now, unfortunately, we do not have enough money to complete even our own year. So far, we have not received a response to this letter,» added Lukov.

He also added that the regional military administration has also sent a letter to the city council to allocate funds from the city budget.

«But this is a very large amount for us at the end of the year. We are now looking for opportunities,» said Lukov.

When the journalist asked whether the city authorities still expect the state to allocate funds to roof the unfinished building of the lyceum, Vitalii Lukov replied: «Well, yes, we are counting on it. The state has started this work, so, apparently, it needs to complete it».

«We think so. But we understand that the city needs it. The mayor is now considering opportunities, primarily financial ones. Because we have other requests from the RMA for additional funding from the city budget. So we are now making up our minds. We will hold negotiations and discuss possibilities with the management of the RMA,» said Vitalii Lukov.

As you know, the unfinished building of Lyceum No. 60 in Varvarovka needs to be roofed before the start of winter. The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration is counting on help from the city budget, as the school is on the city's balance sheet.
