«Mykolaivoblteploenergo» will receive 15 cogeneration units with a total capacity of 27.5 MW as part of a World Bank project.
To this end, deputies at a meeting of the city council on 4 September amended the programme for reforming and developing housing and communal services, NikVesti writes.
At a meeting of the budget committee, Mykola Lohvinov, director of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivoblteploenergo», said that the company has been developing cogeneration for several years:
«We have been working on the development of distributed generation since May 2022. Today we generate more than 4 MW of electricity for the city grid. We plan to reach 10 MW by 1 November and 15.6 MW by the end of the year. The project submitted for consideration in the resolution is being implemented at the expense of a World Bank subvention through the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The project involves 15 cogeneration units with a total capacity of 27.5 MW being installed in Mykolaiv. The need to amend the city programme is to ensure that the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine sees our real intentions and includes the city in this project without the risk of exclusion,» said Mykola Lohvinov.
As a reminder, the World Bank will provide an additional $116 million to restore heating systems and maintain energy resilience in seven cities whose critical infrastructure was damaged by Russian attacks.
