«Monobank founders replenished Mykolaiv's budget by tens of millions» — Sienkevych on the city's revenues for the first half of 2025

Monobank co-founder Oleh Horokhovskyi, who registered a subsidiary in Mykolaiv — a branch of «Kilobaity1024»- has already paid tens of millions of hryvnias to the city budget.

Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said this during a press conference at the city council on Wednesday, 30 July, according to NikVesti.

«According to the latest data, I have information that the budget execution is 97% of the planned amount. It should be understood that the budget for 2025 was forecasted without optimism. And as part of this, we have not yet overfulfilled it», said Oleksandr Sienkevych.

However, the budget was also affected by revenues from new tax residents, in particular the Monobank team.

«The new taxpayers that Mykolaiv has received, namely the founders of Monobank, have paid a large amount of money to the budget. It is tens of millions of hryvnias, but unfortunately, I cannot say for sure,» the mayor added.

In addition, according to the mayor, the city authorities received additional revenues through auctions for the sale of municipal property. He added that the city may exceed its budget targets as early as August, which will allow for the redistribution of funds.

In 2024, it became known that Oleg Gorokhovsky decided to change his place of residence to Mykolaiv, as the businessman wrote on social media. Previously, the co-founder of Monobank paid taxes in Dnipro.

He said that he had met with the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, and he suggested that the Monobank founder pay taxes in the region, adding that due to the proximity to the frontline, «business is hard to do there, and taxes are not collected enough».

In February 2025, a subsidiary, a branch «Kilobytes1024», was registered, which is one of the suppliers of IT solutions for the Monobank project. It was headed by Oleh Horokhovskyi. Later, the banker said that it was necessary to register a branch of one of the companies that develops and licenses software for the bank in Mykolaiv due to a legal requirement.
