As of 31 May 2025, Ukraine's public and publicly guaranteed debt reached USD 180.97 billion, up USD 1 billion from a month earlier.

This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

Out of the total public debt, the external debt amounts to 5.58 trillion hryvnias (74.31% of the total public and publicly guaranteed debt), or 134.48 billion dollars, while the public and publicly guaranteed domestic debt is 1.93 trillion hryvnias (25.69%), or 46.48 billion dollars.

As a reminder, Ukraine failed to reach an agreement with the holders of its $2.6 billion debt during negotiations in Washington in April. If no agreement is reached, the country faces a default.
