The EU has transferred another €1bn to Ukraine from Russian assets

Ukraine has received another €1 billion from the European Union at the expense of Russian assets.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

This is the fifth tranche of macro-financial assistance from the EU under the ERA initiative.

«The funds will be used for key expenditures of the state budget», said Denys Shmyhal.

In total, Ukraine has already received EUR 7 billion from the EU under the ERA initiative. This resource is provided by the proceeds from the use of frozen assets of the Russian Federation.

As a reminder, the European Union has announced its intention to allocate almost €1.9 billion for military support to Ukraine. Most of the money will be used to purchase weapons from Ukrainian manufacturers.
