The World Bank will provide Ukraine with $84 million to rebuild housing damaged by Russian aggression. The funding will be provided under the «eVidnovlennia» programme.

This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

The decision on additional support was made by the World Bank's Board of Directors on 9 May, and on 15 May, representatives of Ukraine and the Bank officially signed the relevant agreement.

It is expected that 25,000 houses will be restored with the allocated money. The funds were allocated under the project «Housing Opportunities for People's Empowerment (HOPE)». Its goal is to address the urgent and critical needs for the repair of partially damaged individual and multi-apartment residential buildings affected by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. Under the terms of the programme, the houses to be repaired must be located in the territorial communities currently under the control of Ukraine.

It is noted that more than 87,000 households have already received compensation for damaged property through the HOPE programme. Funds for additional financing of the project were provided under the Special Recovery Programme for Ukraine and Moldova of the International Development Association's Crisis Fund (IDA SPUR).

We would like to remind you that the deputies of the Odesa City Council decided to allocate an additional 50 million hryvnias to eliminate the consequences of Russian strikes on residential buildings. The objects include a house damaged on 1 May.

It was also reported that the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution according to which 665 million hryvnias will be allocated from the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression to compensate owners of damaged housing under the programme «eVidnovlennia».
