The Odesa City Council has announced a tender for the overhaul of the coastal protection of the beach «Arcadiia». The cost of the work is estimated at over 167 million hryvnias, and it is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.
This is evidenced by a tender published on 22 April by the Capital Construction Department of Odesa City Council, according to NikVesti.
The repair work is planned for the area from 90/51 Novoberehova Street to the building at 10 Arkadiia Beach.
It is planned to completely dismantle worn-out concrete structures, both on land and underwater. Namely, reinforced concrete slabs, piles and wave breakers. These works include not only dismantling but also removing construction waste for disposal.
The next step will be the construction of a new staircase bank protection. The contractor will have to install concrete coastal protection slabs, ramps, and wave defence structures.
In addition, according to the technical documentation, it is planned to carry out dredging works — laying crushed stone and rubble underwater, levelling the bottom. All underwater work will be carried out under the supervision of divers.
The project will cost over 167 million 280 thousand hryvnias from the local budget. The repairs are expected to begin in May 2025 and be completed by the end of 2026.
It should be noted that the deadline for submitting applications and holding the auction itself is 8 May.
As a reminder, preparations for the summer season have started in Odesa region, with 48 beaches ready to open.
