The Mykolaiv City Council will allocate an additional 7 million hryvnias from the budget for the city's cultural department. The funds will be used to repair the facade of the Palace of Culture «Yunist», rent premises for the temporary accommodation of the Palace of Culture «Korabelnyi», create new space in the library and organise cultural events.
This became known during a meeting of the budget committee on 23 April, according to NikVesti.
The total expenditures for the Department of Culture in Mykolaiv currently amount to 212 million hryvnias, but with the new budget redistribution, they are planned to increase to 219 million hryvnias.
The head of the culture department, Yurii Liubarov, explained that even with these additional funds, the needs of the cultural sector remain much greater.
«These 7 million are not all that we need to carry out our statutory activities. We have asked for more, but even this increase will help us at least partially resolve current issues,» said Yurii Liubarov.
In particular, the allocated funds will be used for
