The number of individual entrepreneurs is decreasing: Mykolaiv region lost more than 400 entrepreneurs in three months

Mykolaiv region lost more than 400 individual entrepreneurs in the first quarter of this year, while the number of legal entities in the region increased.

This is evidenced by the data of the Main Department of Statistics in Mykolaiv region, according to NikVesti.

As of 1 April, 41885 individual entrepreneurs were registered in the Mykolaiv region, which is 442 fewer than at the beginning of the year — 42327. Accordingly, the region is on the 16th place among the regions of Ukraine by the number of individual entrepreneurs, which is 2.5% of the national figure.

It should be noted that while the number of entrepreneurs in the region is decreasing, there is an increase in the legal entity sector. During the first quarter, their number increased to 52867, which is 177 more than at the beginning of the year. The region ranks eighth in Ukraine in terms of the number of registered companies, accounting for 3.4% of the total national figure.

According to statistics, men predominate among the heads of legal entities: 70.7% against 29.3% of women.

The number of individual entrepreneurs with employees has decreased during the full-scale invasion in southern Ukraine. The largest decrease was recorded in Mykolaiv region — by 9%.

Earlier it was reported that this year the tax service will inspect 61 companies in Mykolaiv region. This is one of the lowest figures in Ukraine. For comparison, 11 times more companies will be inspected in Kyiv.

In addition, 2,521 sole proprietorships in Ukraine closed after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on tax increases. Since the beginning of 2024, 7,105 individual entrepreneurs have registered in Mykolaiv region, while 4,865 have ceased operations.
