President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the full-scale war has caused Ukraine economic losses of $320 billion.
He said this during a press conference «Ukraine. Year 2025».
According to him, the US provided $100 billion, another $100 billion came from the EU and international partners, and Ukraine invested $120 billion on its own.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that he does not consider US aid a debt, as it was issued as a grant under an agreement with former President Joe Biden.
«Ukraine received $100 billion in aid from the United States, not $350, not $500, not $700. But I am not ready to recognise even this amount as a debt, because a grant is not a debt. I negotiated this with Biden, and there is a corresponding agreement», the president said.
He also said that Ukraine continues to receive financial support approved by the previous US administration.
«This is the economy of this tragedy... And I expect mutual understanding from Donald Trump and I want him to hear what security guarantees Ukraine needs,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.
The President clarified that another $15 billion from the United States, provided for by previously adopted decisions, is in the process of being received. We are talking about the supply of weapons and technical equipment.
At the same time, as of 2023, Russia spent about $300 million a day on the war with Ukraine. And the Russian budget spent more in January-June 2023 than it had planned to spend in the whole of 2023.
