A public notification system will be installed for ₴86.1 million in Mykolaiv region

In the Mykolaiv region, it is planned to implement a new public notification system for 86.1 million hryvnias.

This is evidenced by the data of the public procurement system ProZorro.

The client of the works is the Department of Civil Protection of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, and the works must be completed by the end of 2025.

Serhii Hornostai, deputy head of the civil protection department of the Mykolaiv RMA, said in a comment to NikVesti that the old notification system will continue to function until the new one is launched.

At the same time, parallel use of the old and new systems continues in Ukraine until the upgrade is completed across the country.

«The old notification system will work until the new system is put into operation. And until Ukraine as a whole switches to a new notification system. The new system will be installed within territorial communities, which will later be connected to the national notification network, Serhii Hornostai said.

According to a government decree, by the end of 2026, all local communities must complete the implementation of the new warning systems.

We will remind that the deputy head of the department for civil protection of Mykolaiv RMA Olena Horbachova reported that the warning system is being modernized in the region, which could work in the absence of light. Two modern certified systems are already operating in Mykolaiv and Southern Ukraine.

Currently, 397 sirens and 192 loudspeakers are connected to the warning system in the region. In addition, four FM radio stations and the mobile application «Alarm» are used. However, the existing analog system, which has been in operation for more than 80 years, is outdated and does not meet modern requirements.

We will remind you that 6 million 100 thousand hryvnias were allocated from the regional budget of the Mykolaiv Oblast for 2024 to improve the public notification system.

It should be noted that during the summer of 2024, an air alert was announced on the territory of the Mykolaiv region 328 times: 126 — in June, 115 — in July, 87 — in August.
