Mykolaiv expects to receive 26 new buses from Turkish manufacturer Anadolu Isuzu by the end of 2025.

This was announced by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych in a commentary to NikVesti during the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Rome on 10-11 July.

At the same time, the mayor clarified that Mykolaiv will receive nine new trolleybuses with an autonomous range of up to 20 kilometres as part of a project with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

«Yesterday (9 July, — note) we signed an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on additional financing with the participation of the Kingdom of Denmark for the purchase of 9 additional trolleybuses with an autonomous range of 20 kilometres. These trolleybuses will be brought to Mykolaiv in the near future to transport Mykolaiv residents to all the different remote areas.

I would also like to remind you that we expect to produce 26 buses by the end of the year. And the next step in the transport reform will be the introduction of an electronic ticket, for which we are also looking for money these days,» said Oleksandr Sienkevych.

As a reminder, Dmytro Teslenko, director of «Mykolaivpastrans», said that the company needs to hire 120 more drivers to ensure the operation of all buses in the fleet. Currently, about 26 out of 65 buses run daily.

Earlier, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, said that due to a shortage of drivers, there are far fewer public transport vehicles running around the city than the city's fleet. This is due to mobilisation.
